Masjid Restoration

The Prophet, upon be peace, said: “The believer’s shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity.” (Al-Tirmidhi)

“Whoever builds a masjid for Allah, Allah

will build for him a house like it in Paradise.”

(Bukhari and Muslim)

Masjid Darul-Islam is an outgrowth of the continuous efforts of the oldest indigenous Sunni Muslim Community in the United States of America, the Addeynu Allahe

Universal Arabic Association Inc., (AAUAA). This great effort was started by the late Professor Muhammad Elzadeen in 1936, which bring us into our 86th year. The

AAUAA has given rise to personalities like the late Hajj Wahhab Abu Bakr and Sheikh Hajj Heshaam Jaaber, who officiated the Janazah for El-Hajj Malik Shabazz aka

Malcolm X.

Masjid Darul-Islam has always been able to maintain Muslim unity in Elizabeth, N.J., with competent leadership. In 1995 the Muslim Community of Elizabeth, took a giant step in bringing the greater Muslim Community in the Union County area under one umbrella by purchasing one of the most precious pieces of real estate in the city; the historic Vail-Deane School building that also once served as the Governor’s mansion. Over the years the building has underwent structural damage, both exterior and interior and needs immediate attention.

Masjid Darul lslam has currently undertaken a total renovation project to restore the Masjid that is very costly and needs your support. Therefore we are asking the Muslims to donate towards this project in order to help Masjid Darul Islam achieve its mission.
